Mental health of young adults was in danger
In the spring of 2020, young adults were transferred to remote education in stages. When children in comprehensive school returned to in-person teaching, young people and young adults were in remote education until the end of 2020 and the start of 2021 as well. The increased mental load of remote education and uncertainty about their future were seen as a spike in mental health issues of young adults. Demand for support services increased significantly.
Students felt let down
Starting studies at a higher degree education institution is a big step in the life of a young adult. It is associated with a lot of thoughts, expectations and fears. Events for freshmen, new friends, and moving to another city are all exciting. Remote education was stressful, and more than ever young people and young adults reported feeling lonely.
